Big Changes ahead for Black Chip Poker in 2017

Posted on by Phil Duncan

Black Chip PokerPlayers at Black Chip Poker can expect to see an improved tournament schedule, a revised player rewards scheme and an exciting new Sit & Go game in 2007.

Black Chip Poker is one of the leading destinations for online poker players using Bitcoin to deposit and withdraw. Its reliable and efficient banking procedures have attracted many players from all over the world and, in an attempt to further increase the volume of traffic at the site, big changes are underway.

Despite already having a comprehensive and varied tournament schedule, a lucrative player rewards scheme and a three-handed, hyper-turbo Jackpot Poker game, Black Chip Poker is looking to further improve its product in order to maintain its promise of providing players with “the best user experience in the industry”. Here is a look at what´s in store for 2017.

An Improved Tournament Schedule

Slight improvements were made to the existing tournament schedule to cater for European players over Christmas, and these appear to have been positively received and will remain. These improvements added nearly $30,000 in guarantees to the weekday tournaments, and the latest round of improvements (effective from Monday 9th January) will add another $70,000 to the daily prize pools.

The improved tournament schedule not only bumps up the guarantees on existing events – there are plenty of new tournaments and formats added as well. One of the most interesting new formats is the “Top Ten” tournaments – events in which only the ten players who make the final table cash in the event. Payouts in these events will naturally be much higher per player than in regular tournaments, and it will be fascinating to see what level of response they receive.

However, the biggest news concerning the improve tournament schedule at Black Chip Poker is that the guaranteed prize pool for the Sunday Special is being increased from $115,000 to $150,000. The event is already the most valuable online poker tournament available to players in the US and it frequently exceeds its guarantee. Now Black Chip Poker is rewarding players who have supported the event over the past couple of years by making it more valuable still.

Revised Elite Benefits Reward Scheme

The “Elite Benefits” reward scheme is another of the reasons why players choose to play at Black Chip Poker. With its easily-accessible tiers, high level of rewards and additional Achievement Awards, the scheme is frequently compared to the VIP Club previously offered by PokerStars before Frequent Player Points became StarsCoin and the Stellar Rewards were withdrawn.

Since joining the Winning Poker Network in 2012, players at Black Chip Poker have become accustomed to earning “Benefit Points” towards their status in the Elite benefits program via the dealt rake method of point allocation. This change earlier this week to the weighted contributed meth of point allocation – a positive move that will reward players for their action more appropriately than before.

The change brings the point allocation method in line with how points are earned at the site for clearing Black Chip Poker bonuses and improving your position in the weekly “Beast” rake race. Benefit Points will still be awarded at the rate of 5.50 points per dollar rakes, and the only change that players will notice is that it will be easier to reach higher statuses and take less time to earn Achievement Awards.

Sit & Go 2.0 – Scheduled for January 16th

Sit & Go 2.0 is an innovative version of a full-ring Sit & Go game in which the prize pool and the number of players that will get paid in each game is determined by a draw at the beginning of each game. Although this seems similar to the existing three-handed Jackpot games (and we believe the new games will also be have a hyper-turbo structure), there are some significant differences.

At least three players are going cash in every game – usually more – so Sit & Go 2.0 is different in the respect that there will be a bubble and it won´t be “winner-takes-all”. With a flatter payout structure than regular Sit & Go games, the likelihood is that players will cash more frequently than in Jackpot Poker games and win more money at the same time because of the increased number of players.

A live version of the game was trialed at the Punta Cana Poker Classic last year and received an enthusiastic response.  The winner of the first ever live game of Sit & Go 2.0 – poker coach Yaniv “Sentin7” Son – reported “Players flocked to these games in a way I hadn’t seen in the live-poker scene since…well…ever.” It sounds intriguing, and we can´t wait to give it a go!

Plenty of Reasons to Play at Black Chip Poker in 2017

The improvements to the existing product can only help Black Chip Poker become a more popular destination for online poker players in 2017. With its fantastic first deposit bonus, all the way through to the cashout procedure, Black Chip Poker lives up to its promise of providing players with “the best user experience in the industry”. We´ll be playing there as much as we can throughout 2017. We hope to see you there too!
